An overview on how to get Mail PRO services up and running

In order to finish the configuration of your new email service go to https://hostdecent.com/clients/clientarea.php?action=services and click on related Mail PRO service.

We need to protect all our customers and to avoid legal or service performance issues, the first step is to check that you are the owner of the domain used for Mail Pro service.

In the service configuration area you’ll find instructions on how to add a new A register in the DNS configuration of your domain. After DNS configuration and propagation you should be able to verify the domain from the Mail Pro Service area. Once the domain was verified you can remove the recently added register from the DNS. This register was only needed to verify your domain ownership. Depending on the DNS service provider the changes on DNS registry can take up to 72h but in most of the cases are don in max 24h.

MX records setting

MX records determine the mail servers of destination for all delivered emails addressed to a specific domain.

To receive email addressed to the domains you actived on Mail PRO Service, you must set the MX records as indicated by us and remove the current ones, using the DNS management panel of your provider.

In order to avoid issues, remove any other MX records from your DNS if you already have some.

Go to related DNS configuration for given domain and add new MX records as following:

MX primary: mx01.emailpnl.com with priority 10

MX primary: mx02.emailpnl.com with priority 20

TXT/SPF: v=spf1 include:spf.emailpnl.com mx a -all

An SPF record is a DNS setting that defines which mail servers and IP addresses are authorized to send emails on behalf of a specific domain.

By configuring an SPF record, it is possible to indicate to the recipient servers which IP addresses are authorized to send emails with their own domain name. This setting helps you increase security and protect you from email scams.

Setting a correct SPF record reduces the likelihood that someone can use your domain to send spam or phishing emails and increases the chance that your message will not be marked as unwanted. Configuring an SPF record is easy and there are no additional costs or impacts on the Webmail performance.

It is strongly recommended to set an SPF record for each active domain on Mail PRO services.

Advanced settings to enable SPF records from other providers

If emails containing your domain as sender also depart from other providers (e.g. Mailchimp), you must include their SPF settings by "including" them as shown in the following example:

TXT/SPF:  v=spf1 include:spf.emailpnl.com includes:server.mcsv.net mx a -all

Important: Make sure you publish only one TXT record that includes all the necessary SPF settings.
